I’d Like to Help Execute Your Vision for North Lauderdale
Dear Ms. LaCroix,
My name is Edwin Canton. I recently had the opportunity to speak with Kim, and after our conversation, I wanted to reach out to you personally.
I took some time to learn more about you, your story, and your vision for North Lauderdale. Your emphasis on accountability, transparency, responsible leadership, and strengthening the community stood out to me.
What moved me most, however, was your commitment to empowering young people and creating opportunities for them. That part is personal for me.
I’m someone who got into trouble when I was younger. I made mistakes and had to learn some lessons the hard way, but I refused to allow those mistakes to determine the rest of my life. I worked to overcome that period, build a professional career, and eventually become a personal injury paralegal.
Because of that experience, I understand firsthand how important it is for young people, especially those who may be heading down the wrong path, to see that their circumstances and past mistakes do not have to define their future. Sometimes the right guidance, opportunity, or person believing in their potential can completely change someone’s direction.
That’s why your focus on empowering the youth resonated so strongly with me. It’s an area where I believe my own experiences could allow me to make a meaningful contribution.
I also want you to know that you have my vote.
But I don’t want my involvement to stop at the ballot box. I’d like to know how I can get involved and help you execute your vision for North Lauderdale.
Whether that means community outreach, youth initiatives, research, organization, communicating with residents, campaign activities, or simply helping wherever your team needs another set of hands, I’m willing to contribute my time and skills.
I’m not reaching out looking for a title. I’m looking for an opportunity to serve, learn, and contribute. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you or someone on your team about how I can become involved.
